A Week at Fern Bothy – A Dream Made Real"
A Dream Made Real
It’s been just over a week since we opened our doors at Fern Bothy, and honestly… it still hasn’t sunk in. The sun has been shining, the treatment spaces have been in full swing with amazing clients for Mel and I, and the Loft has been filled with movement, breath, and the beautiful energy of yoga and Qi Gong.
To say this has been a dream feels like an understatement. The vision to hold space — for connection, for healing, for growth — has lived in my heart for so long. I dreamt of a place not just for clients to come and feel held, but where therapists and practitioners could come together, feel supported, and collaborate. A place that nurtures everyone who walks through the door. And now, it’s here.
But it hasn’t come easy. The last six months have brought a wave of challenge — deep personal loss, grief, and moments of overwhelm. It’s been a rollercoaster for our family. And yet, somehow, from all that emotion and intensity, something beautiful has grown.
I’m beyond grateful for the team around me — not just talented in their craft, but open-hearted, kind, and willing to show up for each other. They’ve lifted me, and each other, and now they’re lifting our little community too.
If this space can offer you a moment of peace, a breath, a stretch, a release — then it’s doing what it was built to do.
If you’ve been thinking about visiting, joining a session, or just popping by — maybe you’ve been unsure if it’s the right time — I get it. But here’s the new mantra I’ve been living by:
“What’s the best that could happen?”
Give it a go. Try something new. You might just surprise yourself.
We’re here, and we’d love to welcome you in.
With love and gratitude,
Sam and the Fern Bothy team
Coming Soon: Fern Bothy – A Wellness Collective Rooted in Nature
Opening May 2025 in Longniddry Steading
We’re beyond excited to share that Fern Bothy, our new wellness collective, will be opening its doors in May 2025—right in the heart of the beautifully reimagined Longniddry Steading.
Set against the backdrop of East Lothian’s farming landscape and expansive coastline, our space sits beside a peaceful walled garden, with the gentle flow of the river running just beneath us. It’s a setting that invites you to slow down, reconnect, and breathe a little deeper.
A Space with Soul
Longniddry Steading has been three years in the making, lovingly brought to life through the vision and work of Reywood and Wemyss & March Estate. What once was an old Bruiser House to prepare corn is now a thoughtfully converted sanctuary designed to nurture body, mind, and soul.
Inside, you’ll find:
🌿 Two calming treatment rooms, where our team of holistic practitioners will offer therapies ranging from massage and energy healing to complementary medicine and beyond.
🌿 A light-filled space for events and workshops, ideal for yoga, meditation, seasonal gatherings, and community wellness experiences.
Rooted in Community & Connection
At Fern Bothy, we believe in the power of holistic healing and the beauty of shared experiences. Whether you’re popping in for a treatment or joining us for a workshop, you’ll find a welcoming space that encourages rest, reflection, and renewal.
This is more than just a wellness centre—it’s a collective. A hub. A place to feel grounded, held, and inspired.
We can’t wait to welcome you in.
